Hei mahi

  1. Before reading the poem, tell the students their task is to identify a rhythm for the poem. In pairs, students read the poem then take turns reading it to each other to demonstrate the rhythm as they perceive it. When they have agreed on a rhythm, they read it to another pair to stress the rhythm.
  2. Have the students research the types of edible plants that are typically grown in greenhouses. Get them to create a salad using plants found in greenhouses.
  3. Have the students share their ideas about the poem and list them. Put students into groups of three. Get each group to use one of the ideas from the list to help re-illustrate the poem.
  4. Ask the students to imagine what the greenhouse would say if it could talk. Use the Think, Pair, Share strategy to get the students to share their ideas.

Aromatawai

Ka whakaaturia tana tohungatanga ki te:

  • āta whakarongo kia taea ai te tīpako ngā ariā matua e pīrangitia ana
  • tāutu i ngā ariā matua, ariā tautoko.
