Overview of the Story

I tētahi rā i a Utangaro e hī ika ana, ka mau tāhae āna ika i a Hiakai-ika, tētahi o ngā kekeno mōkai a Ru rāua ko Hape. I tana pukuriri ka whai utu a Utangaro, ka patua a Hiakai-ika kia mate.

While out fishing one day, Utangaro is angered by the loss of his catch and line to Hiakai-ika, one of the pet seals of Ru and Hape. Utangaro seeks revenge and kills Hiakai-ika.

Generate discussion on emotions by displaying a selection of pictures of faces portraying different emotions. Students either describe each emotion (verbal or written), or teacher can give a verbal description and students select the matching picture.
